FUNDRAISING

At AAMU Community, we are dedicated to supporting Afghan asylum seekers, migrants, and children as they rebuild their lives in the UK. Through our services—resettlement assistance, educational programs at AAMU School, language support, and legal guidance—we provide vital resources to help Afghan families adapt and thrive. But we can’t do it alone. Your generous donations are crucial to ensuring these families have the support they need.

At AAMU Community, the generosity of our donors is the cornerstone of our ability to carry out meaningful and life-changing work. It is through your support that we can fund vital initiatives, including our comprehensive resettlement services and the AAMU School. These programmes are indispensable in helping asylum seekers and migrants rebuild their lives here in the United Kingdom, offering them the resources and opportunities they need to flourish.

Resettlement can be a daunting process, particularly for individuals and families who have experienced the trauma of displacement. Our resettlement services are designed to ease this transition by providing personalised support in areas such as housing, education, healthcare, and employment. By addressing these fundamental needs, we aim to empower refugees and asylum seekers  to feel secure and confident as they embark on this new chapter of their lives.

The AAMU School plays an equally vital role in preserving Afghan culture and heritage. We provide Afghan children with a safe, nurturing space where they can learn their native languages, including Farsi and Pashto. In addition to language education, we instil a sense of pride in their cultural identity by teaching them about their rich history, traditions, and heritage. This not only strengthens their connection to their roots but also supports their integration into British society by fostering self-confidence and a strong sense of belonging.

Your donations directly contribute to sustaining these essential projects. They enable us to maintain high-quality services, expand our reach to support more families, and ensure that no one is left behind. With your help, we can continue providing the practical support necessary for day-to-day life, such as emergency food and clothing, as well as the educational tools that equip individuals for long-term success.

Together, we can transform the lives of refugees and  asylum seekers. Your support doesn’t just provide immediate assistance; it plants the seeds for a brighter, more secure future for these families. Whether it’s by donating, volunteering, or spreading the word about our mission, every contribution makes a significant difference.

Join us in empowering the refugee community, ensuring they are not only welcomed but also given every opportunity to thrive in their new home. Thank you for being a vital part of this journey.

AFGHANISTAN

When the Taliban invaded provinces Takhar, Kunduz, and Badakhshan in July 2021, thousands of families have fled to the capital city Kabul for their safety. In general, the whole country has been in a chaotic situation. Unfortunately, there were no organisations to extend aid to these displaced families. These displaced families have set up tents in the parks of Kabul city and unfortunately, the children of at least two families have lost their lives due to lack of nutrition. At this time AAMU Association with the help of Afghans in the UK, have been able to raise and donate £1100 to these displaced families via the registered Charity Organisation of ‘Book & Pen’. The aid distribution was 3000 Afghani per family and 33 families have benefitted from this. Additionally, one family has received the sum of 18000 Afghani, due to their special circumstances. Due to the barbaric attack on provinces Panjshir and Baghlan by the Taliban, and the killing of innocent ethnic people, followed by forced displacement of the residence of these provinces, many families had no choice but to flee to the capital city Kabul. Once again, there was no organisation to provide aid to these displaced families and these families were left in a pitiful state, living in limbo. Thankfully, once again Aamu Association had the opportunity to extend its financial aid via the charity organisation ‘Book & Pen’ to those in need. A total of £2000 was raised and every family benefited from 4000 Afghani, including 21 families from Baghlan, 29 families from Panjshir, 2 families from Badakhshan and one family from Kunduz. Additionally, Aamu Association provided the ‘Book & Pen’ Charity with financial support to set up educational classes for disadvantaged girls. As a result of the gold mine collapse in Shapo Kohestan in province Badakhshan, 33 people who worked in these mines have lost their lives, while others have been left injured. In these difficult circumstances, the families of those involved have received a total of 250000 Afghani in aid from Aamu Association. This aid has been distributed by Mr Ghulam Ullah, who has been appointed by the Governor of Badakhshan in July 2019. Each family has received a sum of 7150 Afghani.
